Last summer, Children North East invited 1,200 children and young people – 100 in each north-east local authority – to photograph what poverty looks like where they live. They took more than 11,000 photographs on disposable cameras. Child Poverty: Definitely Not a Thing of the Past, a national conference at Sage Gateshead on 23 November, will discuss the themes that emerged from the images.
